Happy Holidays to my fellow Pitt fans

I only planned on writing in this blog periodically but with so much happening in Pitt sports lately, I've already had to write more that I thought I ever would. The result is that now I've created a monster. When I did my last blog, I would average around 4,000 unique visitors a day, and that number amazed me. Now, even though I've only been doing this new blog for just a few months, I'm already averaging 8,000 unique visitors a day, and sometimes I even go over 10,000. So thanks to you guys this has quickly become the most popular Pitt blog on the Internet. Who knew? Anyway, thanks to all who read and post, and most off all thanks for helping make this blog a huge success by helping let serious Pitt fans talk seriously and passionately about the teams they love (and that drive them crazy). For anybody who doesn't think Pitt has a lot of fans, all they have to is see the traffic that this site generates and they will know they are wrong.

  2. Chris,

As a lifelong Pitt fan since 1968 when my dad 1st got season tickets at the old Pitt Stadium (Section 9 btw in the end-zone opposite the scoreboard)your blog is part of my "favorites" on my computer and I check it at LEAST once per day.

Your insight, connections and love of Pitt athletics are clear and provide invaluable information to us as Pitt nation.

Please keep up the great work and don't let others try to discourage this blog - they're not real Pitt fans anyway.

Not sure how many of the real rabid fans that Pitt has but, I like to tell my friends here in North Carolina - we may not have the largest fan base in the country but, there are no greater fans than true blue real Pitt fans of which we are all very proud.

Merry Christmas and a post a day for 2012 would be a great new year resolution!

  7. Doke-

I was looking at the nfl hall of fame site and sorted inductees by colleges. Turns out Pitt ranks quite high. Furthermore, despite years of futility, Pitt has a legit chance (IMO) to rocket to top two/three all time schools with possible candidates of Rueben Brown, Curtis Martin, Larry, and Darrel Revis.

Do you agree these guys are/will be nfl hall of famers?

  8. I've written about that many times. People say Pitt can't be a great program but there sure are a lot of greats for a mediocre program. I'm thinking Martin will go in next year, Brown will go in eventually do to his nine Pro Bowls, and obviously Fitzgerald and Revis aren't in yet, but are headed that way. And don't forget about Chris Doleman who will also get in eventually.

  9. Doke -

You do a great job and I've followed you since day one on several platforms, but the other Pitt boards are pathetic. We've needed a central location for the relatively intelligent Pitt fan to have some real dialogue. Thanks for being that guy and Happy Holidays!

  11. Ditto Ditto from this rabid Pitt fan. What separates this blog from others is twofold: excellent research and a smooth writing style. Keep up the great work into the new year... and Happy New Year to all of the Pitt fans in cyberspace!

  12. Great blog. I don't always agree with what I read here, but if I did, I wouldn't have any reason to read it. Plus, there's a lot of info that I get from this blog that I didn't know at all.

Have a Merry Christmas Pitt fans. I hope we have a better year in 2012 because this year has had a lot of heart break, frustration and exasperation.

Dunno about the most popular, but it is the best, by far. I'm glad I found it.

    Keep up the good work!

  16. As far as unique visitors, it averages the most daily as far as blogs go. At least as far as I know. So in that sense it's the most popular. Not that it matters. I was just trying to point out how many Pitt fans there are to be able to sustain yet another blog, and a highly visited one at that. I'm not saying it's the best, or anything like that. There are some excellent ones out there.
