Rippy to Pitt?

According to his coach, via Mike White of the the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Sto-Rox linebacker Deaysean Rippy will be signing with Pitt.  The 6'2" 200 pound Rippy has been an underachiever thus far in his career, but he has loads of talent.

    I did not commit anywhere

hopefully he just wants his moment to announce it

  2. I think so. Plus, technically he didn't commit. His coach said just he was going to.

  3. He just tweeted that he doesn't like Mike White so he can't get the story. I guess that means he's going to Pitt but doesn't want White to be the one to say it.

  4. Mike White didn't think Rippy was D1 quality... maybe that is why. Perhaps he used the words unimpressed for D1... I forget which Sto-Rox game he was covering.

  5. Then he'll fit in nicely at Pitt. A Pitt fan shouldn't like Mike White. Complete Penn State homer.

  6. We got Rippey, now if we can land Standifer, Bam Bradley and keep Pankey this will be a good class.

  7. Looks like this class will be ranked 30ish!!
    Not bad..
I was worried but... we need DL guys!!!

  8. D. Rippy is a smart young man. After analyzing the situation, he realizes that his best opportunity to win a BCS Bowl is with Pitt. WVU will be the middle of the pack and Arizona will not be successful for years. At the end of the day though, if you are good enough, the league will find you.

Staying at Pitt and playing a position of need, is key. Some say that he has underachieved so far. Usually the ones saying that are the underachievers. I expect him to make huge strides as a person and as a player if indeed he chooses to go to Pitt tomorrow. Perhaps It is a shame that Mr. Cox is going elsewhere because I truly think they would have a very strong back 7 or 8, had he joined! Would expect Cox to go to the league as a junior if he attends Pitt. At MSU, he may not see the field until that time, despite promises. Personally I think Cox is making a mistake, but that is why we are all given freedom of choice.

Mr. Rippy, hurry and announce so you can do it your way! You will do well if you do choose Pitt!

  9. If Pitt can land Tyler Boyd then losing Cox won't mean anything because Boyd is better.

  10. 30ish after the coaching carousel the past 2 years is ok This staff will coach up the players and make them better

  11. The class is definitely top heavy, but if they can land Bradley and Rippy that's six really good players that should be something. If that's what you can get in a down year, I'll take it.

  12. Need to get boyd and Robert foster and kugler next year

  13. Is this staff recruiting boyd?

  14. Absolutely. One of them will probably move to Clairton.

  15. Haha. Nice. I agree, ill take bradley, rippy, voytik, shell, and bisnowaty in a down year as well

  16. Will the transfers be factored into this class or last years? Do you think Ricketts will be a player for us?

  17. The opportunity to play quickly should be a big factor. I think Pitt provides the best opportunity for that. When you have to wait 3 or 4 years a lot of things can happen. You can work hard and wait your turn and then be displaced a 4 or 5 star recruit. If you have the chance to go to your home town school in a position where you're needed, you will get the opportunity to get on field sooner. Hail to Pitt!

  18. Wait he hates Mike White? My gosh I think Rippy will be my favorite Panther now

  20. Chris,
How many scholarships does Pitt have to give assuming they don't tap anyone on the shoulder to leave the program.

  21. I really like Capers. Big time talent and great leadership.

  22. I wouldn't mind if Pitt took a chance on capers at this point. They have some ships left and he is one of the best athletes out there when healthy. Worth a chance

  23. Chryst better become Robert Fosters best friend the next 12 months. Urban has been in D-Robs back pocket lately!!

  24. Foster will be a buckeye or in the sec

  25. There's no chance that Foster goes anywhere other than Pitt or Ohio State. He wants to stay close to home.

  26. Pitt needs kugler

  27. Like I said before on Kugler. The best college OL coach in the country is right down the road. No reason for Pitt to lose him.

  28. Any insight on capers recruiting

  29. Chris, i really hope that chryst and co are all over foster at this point. Are they?
