Penn State linebacker Mike Hull is on the Pitt campus today and is looking to possibly transfer to the university.
Hull, who played at Canon McMillan HS, was one of the top recruited linebackers nationally in the 2010 class, but has yet to make a major impact for Penn State. After a redshirt season, which Hull used to add weight, the 6'0" 225 pounder had 18 tackles in his redshirt freshman season.
In the spring, Hull impressed Penn State coaches with his improvement, especially his blitzing skills. He was a backup this spring to the excellent Gerald Hodges, but the Nittany Lions staff and players, including Hodges, predicted that Hull was going to break out this season. The transfer would come as a bit of a surprise as his father also played at Penn State.
