Panthers basketball adds transfer

Rutgers transfer Derrick Randall has committed to Pitt.  He is expected to get a waiver to play immediately.  The 6'8" 240 pound Randall played just 8.2 minutes a game as a sophomore and averaged 2.1 ppg and 1.5 rpg.  A native of Brooklyn, Randall is raw but has good strength and is expected to give the Panthers help on defense and rebounding, as a reserve.

If Jeter enrolls and "pays" his own freight, would he too be eligible with a waiver? He should get in state tuition. Wouldn't be a huge hardship and there are plenty of grants around.

From a basketball perspective, Jeter jeter pumpkin eater! He can ball and play defense!

Speaking of hardship and prop 48, Melvin Bennett would look great right about now....except that he would be about 55 right now.

  3. I don't expect much from Randall.
Pitt needs the "body" for practice.
